Education
Attorney Johnson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Marquette University, where she was a member of the English Honors Society and Mathematic Honors Society. In 2013, Keri Johnson graduated from the Northern Illinois University College of Law (as Keri Slama). She is admitted to practice in Illinois and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
Attorney Johnson’s law school experience included an internship at the DeKalb County State’s Attorney’s Office under Supreme Court Rule 7-11, where she prosecuted criminal cases and learned first-hand the importance of reasonable expectations for resolutions.
While in law school, Johnson served as the President of the Gay Straight Alliance and studied abroad in France.
Private Practice
Attorney Johnson began practicing as a criminal defense associate attorney in a private firm before adding family law to her focus. She brings years of experience in criminal defense and family law to Pro Legal Care LLC, where she has quickly become a beloved advocate for our longtime and new clients alike.
Community Involvement
Attorney Johnson is very active in shaping the future of our region – a trait she developed early while volunteering with the Key Club in high school. Her desire to help others led to her deciding at a young age that she would be an attorney.
Johnson serves on the board of directors for the non-profit organization Because of Ruth.
She is also a Girl Scout leader in Ogle County, where she helps develop the next generation of leaders.
Attorney Johnson lives in northern Illinois with her husband and children.
